Glen Lloyd is situated on le Rang 10-11 of Inverness, at the border of the Leeds Township. The Lloyd family was the first family to settle there. As of 1831, James Kirkpatrick had opened a post office. In 1850, there was a carpenter and a shoe-maker and, in 1861, a land-surveyor by the name of George Lloyd.
In 1892, the population in Glen Lloyd reached 100 people including a grocer, a mailman and a priest who was also a railway agent (father Napoleon). There was also a sawmill.
In 1831, 43 children attended a protestant school there. In 1930, the primary school was still open for a few kids living near by.
Today, two cemeteries still exist. The first one is the Greenlay-George cemetery, located on the north side of le Rang 10-11. It used to be associated with the Methodists Church of Chapel on the Hill on Craig Road and affiliated with the Leeds mission. The second cemetery is located on the opposite side of the road, le Rang 10-11, on private land. It is a private cemetery for the Plummer family who lived there in 1831.
